Word Tutorial 4
Part 1
1. Click on View on your menu bar.
2. Scroll down to Toolbars and over and down to Drawing and click it. 
3. By clicking Drawing the Drawing menu will appear and should look like
this: |

4. When you insert a shape or textbox your pointer or cursor will
automatically change to a crosshair. Use the Oval tool to
make a circle about the size below. Click on the sizing handles (the
little boxes) to resize to the size that you want.

5. Double click on the oval that you created and the menu below will
appear. Click on drop down menu under the Fill and Color
section and choose the Tan color.

6. Once you have changed the Fill Color property the oval should look similar to the one below.

7. Use the Oval
, Line
, and Rectangle
to draw
a picture similar to the one below. If you would like to change the
picture in any that is fine, but you must create something SIMILAR.

8. You will now learn to change the color effects available for the
shapes. Go to the Format menu, click on Borders and Shading,
click on the Fill color drop down menu and select the Fill effects
button. Explore the Gradient, Texture, and Patterns
tabs and select one to format the color change of the pants and shirt.
Part 2
1. Create a rectangle like the one below.

2. Next make another rectangle inside the prior rectangle. <See
Below>

3. Next change the color of the smaller rectangle to blue. To do this double click on the rectangle and change the Fill Color to Red. See step 5 on Part 1 of this tutorial for help.
4. Make 7 red stripes on the flag like you see below. Notice you may
have to resize some of the shapes to make it look similar to the one below.
5. Go to AutoShapes on the Drawing toolbar and click on the drop down menu go to Stars and Banners and Click on the 5-Point Star.

6. Make a small star and place it in the blue rectangle. <See
Below>
7. Fill the blue rectangle with stars. This flag does not have to look
exactly like the one below, but try to get it close. Hint: Copy 1
star and past it numerous times.

8 .Next, click on the Text Box
button and type "United We
Stand." <See Below>

9. Change the size of the font to 18 and center it.
Step 3
1. Create a scene with you at school in your favorite class. Make sure to
use AutoShapes, Rectangles, Ovals, Lines, and change the fill color of some
objects. Your grade will be determined by effort. An example of a
perfect scene is below.

Step 4
Save as your last name word 4.
