FrontPage Tutorial 1
Learning to Create Basic Web Pages

Directions: You will create a Web page which will include appropriate content of your choice on any one of the following topics : your favorite music, sports team, food(s), celebrity, TV show, or movie.  You will need to listen to the Atomic Learning videos that accompany the activities to learn how to do so.    

Activity 1
Creating a Heading
Step 1- Open Microsoft FrontPage .
Step 2- Watch the Atomic Learning video for this section to see how to put a heading in.
Step 3- Add a heading to your web page.  The heading should be about what ever you are doing your web page on.

Activity 2  
Creating a Horizontal Line
Step 1- Watch the Atomic Learning video on how to add a horizontal rule.
Step 2- Put a horizontal rule in under your heading.  This will separate it from the rest of your text.

Activity 3
Add content
Step 1-  Now it's time to put some content into your Web page.  You will need to write two paragraphs (4-5 sentences per paragraph) about the topic of your Web page.

Activity 4
Formatting Text
Step 1- Watch the Atomic Learning video for this section to see how to change the size of text.
Step 2- You need to have at least 4 different types of fonts, 4 different colors, and 4 different sizes. 
Step 3- Go back and underline the heading of your page.

Activity 5 
Adding Hyperlinks
Step 1- Watch the Atomic Learning video for this section to see how to create a hyperlink.
Step 2- Add 4 hyperlinks that are related to the heading of your web page at the bottom of your page.

Activity 6  
Changing the Background Color of a Web Page
Step 1- Watch the Atomic Learning video for this section to see how to change the background color of your web page.
Step 2- Change the background color of your web page.

Activity 7 Get Pictures
Insert Pictures to your Web Page
Step 1- To insert a picture to a web page,  go on the Internet and find a picture that you like.  Right click on the picture that you like and select copy.  Go back to FrontPage, right click and select paste.  You must put in 4 pictures.
Step 2- Watch the Atomic Learning video for this section to see how to resize pictures.
Step 3- Resize all of your pictures to the same size and place them at between your heading and your first paragraph.



Activity 8
Adding Tables
Step 1- Watch the Atomic Learning video for this section to see how to create a table.
Step 2- Make two rows (going across) and three columns (going up and down).  It does not matter what you put in your table.

Activity 9  
Scrolling Marquees
Step 1- Watch the Atomic Learning video for this section to see how to create a marquee.
Step 2- Add the marquee your heading.

Activity 10  
Dynamic HTML Effects
Step 1- Watch the Atomic Learning video for this section to see how to create a Dynamic HTML Effects.
Step 2- Add a Dynamic HTML Effects to your Web page where the video tells you to.

Activity 11     Backgrounds
Saving Pictures as Backgrounds
Step 1- Watch the Atomic Learning video for this section to see how to save a picture as your background.
Step 2- Add a picture background to your Web page.

Activity 12  
Creating an Image Map
Step 1- Watch the Atomic Learning video for this section to see how to create and Image Map.
Step 2- Add an new picture and make two hotspots (hyperlinks) on that image.
